Living Water
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them" - John 7:38

Spring Cleaning
Matthew 3:12 - His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” - Because of the virus most people are staying home and many are probably using the time to do some Spring cleaning. Spring has long been the season to do some serious cleaning but I think serious cleaning can be done anytime. Serious cleaning is what God will do when he comes and as the scripture says he will gather his wheat into the barn and burn the chaff. The wheat of course is all the people who have accepted his son Jesus as their only savior and he will bring them to live with him in his heavenly kingdom. But as we are told in Psalm 1:4 - Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away - . When this happens none of us want to be counted among the chaff and only Jesus can make this happen. Click the link on the right to learn all about Christ

Something's Missing
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. - Everyone seems to be talking about the coronavirus, so I will too. We've all heard what we should do to deal with it or minimize it so I won't go there. But one thing we don't hear on the news is after we do everything else, is to trust in God. To unbelievers this will sound stupid and a waste of time, but believers know better. They remember the words of Christ in Matthew 28:20 - ... surely I am with you always,... Whatever is happening to our nation God is in control of it and we all need to remember that and ask him to never do it again. Click the link on the right to learn all about Christ

Rooms Available (Reposted from 2010)
John 14:2 - In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? - With the summer months approaching some of us are planning vacations or overnight trips. We may need a place to stay, so we look for a room with the features we want. They may include internet access, a microwave and fridge, a place that allows pets and the list can go on, and we want the room all ready when we get there. In the Bible Christ promises us a room that will be ready for us in his heavenly kingdom, and he goes on to say that he wouldn't have told us this if it were not true. We can trust in everything that Jesus has promised to those who come to him and accept him as their personal Savior. We all need to accept him as our Savior because he is the only way to eternal salvation and to get a room that is all ready for us in his heavenly kingdom. Weeds Among the Wheat (Reposted from 2009)
Matthew 13:24 - 30 - He put another parable before them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?' He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' So the servants said to him, 'Then do you want us to go and gather them?' But he said, 'No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn." - This parable from the Bible teaches us that there will be unbelievers in the world next to believers. When Jesus spoke of an enemy sowing bad seed, he was talking about the devil, who is working against God all the time. Jesus also tells us the "weeds" and the "wheat" will both be judged by him and Christians are not to work against unbelievers or risk working against believers. God's "field" is the world and his "barn" is the kingdom of Heaven. We all need to become "wheat" that bears grain for Christ so we can be saved and live with him in his kingdom. A New Beginning (Reposted, one of my favorites)
2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! - A new year is often viewed as a new beginning, and we can think of ourselves as having a new beginning if we have come to Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote 2 Corinthians about 55 a.d. probably when he was in Macedonia, and in 5:17 notice that Paul says "has come," "has gone" and "is here," he never uses the words "might come," might be gone," or "might be here." It's a done deal for those in Christ because of what he did for them on the cross. He paid for all our sins and promises us eternity in Heaven as his free gift to us if we have faith in him. Ephesians 2:8-9 says - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. - Despite our feelings and what we may have been told, we can't work our way to forgiveness and eternal life, we can only rely on Christ for that. We need to have faith in him in order to be a new creation. Click the link on the right to learn all about Christ.

Habakkuk 1 : 2-3 - How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. - Soon Christmas will be here and many people will be having good times and creating happy memories. But some might meet with disaster over the holidays (I did in 1997). It might be personal trouble or something we heard about that happened to others. Either way it is God's plan and he will also rescue us from disaster as it says in Isaiah 45:7 - I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.- It seems stupid to us for God to bring disaster, especially on a holiday, but as hard as it is to believe he leaves a bright spot for those who know Christ. As he says in James 1:12 - Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. For that reason we need to know Christ. Click the link on the right to learn all about Christ

Conflict of Interest
Romans 7:15 - I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. - When the Apostle Paul wrote this about 57 A.D. he was talking about his sinful nature that he well knew all Christians have. That is having faith in Christ but at the same time occasionally doing something that we know Christ is opposed to. Sometimes we all give in to our temptations (I know I do) and later we wonder why. Today this is commonly called our dual nature and whether we like it or not or believe it or not the Bible teaches that all Christians have it. As we are told in Galatians 5:17 - For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. - . So how can we deal with this problem, what can we do about it? All we can do is ask God for strength in struggling against it. That should be our main interest.
